Namthaja Achieves Major Milestone in Metal Additive Manufacturing
At Namthaja, we are proud to announce the successful production of the largest metal 3D printed part in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Using our in-house Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) platform, we printed a stainless steel ring with a diameter nearing 1 meter — setting a new benchmark for metal additive manufacturing in the region.
This accomplishment reflects not only the scalability of our metal AM technology but also our commitment to reshaping industrial production through localized, on-demand, and cost-efficient manufacturing.
Why This Milestone Matters
The ability to produce large-scale metal components locally has significant implications for manufacturers and industrial operators across the GCC:
-
✅
Reduced Lead Times: Parts can be manufactured on demand in less than 10 days.
-
✅ Lower Material Waste: We printed only the required geometry, avoiding the need to purchase and machine large raw metal sheets.
-
✅ Cost Savings: Traditional metal plate procurement would have cost over SAR 30,000 — our process eliminated that cost.
-
✅ Design Flexibility: WAAM allows complex or custom geometries without tooling or dies.
